Skin so soft as cotton wool
Beautiful silky hair greased together
Cute little nose, lips and gorgeous eyes
Fingers and toes so perfectly posed
Cold and clammy, I feel so sad
Empty and isolated, hidden from the norm
Shocked, in denial, how could this be?
My little baby was not to be
Frozen, pale and lifeless
So small and so helpless
All quiet, too peaceful
Sleeping but not moving
Too much to bear, to much to share
My baby was never to survive
My sweet bump, you beautiful thing
What plans we had for you
How do I cope, how do I behave
This is not happening, not to me
Your little sister, what shall I tell her?
Your baby brother is never coming home to stay

Skin so soft as cotton wool

Innocence in a sense died that day.
Die as we cried for the sake of the other who was left behind.
The unkind hand of fate

Dearest Children
Birth and death
Grow out of life
Who plants them
We do not really know
But God is our answer
Birth we let it
Death of a loved one is all about one and two.
Don't cry your loved one is not far away,
so why not ask them to sit with
“Valentine for Johnny”
Gathering lace and paper to create,
loving memory for the special date.
Pink, red valentines
