How to place background music in a webpage

If you want to know how to add background music, it is assumed that you all ready know how to build a web page without a problem. To do this will require some patience and also some testing to be sure that it works first and foremost. After all, what is the most important item about having music or any multimedia items on your web page in the first place? Being able to view or hear them without a problem. Without getting overly technical, here are some of the steps actually.

Check your bandwidth:
This is very crucial because the last thing needed would be to have it set up only for the site to go down. Do not do this on free web hosting sites, as generally there isn't a lot of bandwidth given out in the first place.
What would be recommended is to have a domain purchased but make sure to have enough bandwidth. If it is a large amount each month, that would really be a major benefit if you think about it.

Location of code:
This code can be placed below the body tag. In fact, it doesn't go inside of it at all and how it goes is a separate code. Look below on how it is supposed to look.

<bgsound src=""> For XHTML: <bgsound src="" />

Though if doing this in XHTML, it would need the end tag and all that would be needed would be just a slash at the end.

Test it: Before you put it online, it has to be tested first of all. When it comes to web sites, everything has to be tested perfectly. This is where you do the work offline and then put it through a test.
The last thing needed would be to put it online and have it not work.

Upload it: All that would be left is to simply upload the web page or pages to the Internet and thus it should be completed. Be sure to also upload the song as well because that is going to be needed to play the one that you wish for it to do so. Sure, it may take a couple minutes depending upon connection speed but it would be worth it.

Recommended File Type:
For music purposes, it would best to go with the format ending at an mp3 style. It is very common and mostly whenever music is ripped onto a computer from a CD, that is generally the type that is used. Think about this, how often do you see a CD with a different format of music for a computer or laptop in general?

Do try to make sure that it is going to be legal and not do anything illegal. Also, do keep in mind that there could be some users without a good connection so that has to be considered as well. That is all that is needed to get the job done without getting overly technical in the first place. It's really not that hard once you know HTML.
