A muscle car to me is a real classic from the mid 60's to the early 70's. With unlimited value. Hand made in America, with Swedish and American steel. The car must have alot of horse power, and high end peformence and sounds like a rocket....Cars like the 1967 Oldsmobile w30 442..,and the 1968 Hemi Cuda, Plymouth Roadrunner,Pontiac GTO. Even cars like the 60ths Chevy Corvette 427, and the Ford Boss Mustang , Dodge Challenger , Chevy Camaro, Chevy Chevelle... With steelbars so you feel safe.,and so it wont brake down from a powerful engine with heavy torque.The Tires are smoking, and the car is 13 feet long and 6 feet wide.. 0-til 60 in3.5 sec while a half of a tank of gas get burned. And are very rare. And cost a lot of dough. Thats what makes true muscelcars. I am a 29 year old car enthusiast from Sweden, who have had the luck to drive one of those heavy muscle cars. It was an Oldsmobile 442 with a W30 engine. It have about 600 hundred horse power with 530 pounds of tourqe and 3200 rpm... Powered by Hurst equipt and Dr Olds. ..wow... Thats the real deal. The moment change my wiew of what really is a true muscle car.. Before i that any car with high performence, was a muscle car. Like Ford gt, Viper, Ferrari, Lamborghini ,Porsche ,Bentley. Cars with big engines. 10 years ago i was lucky to get to know american technology and sience. How to put a rocket in to a car ! Today im sitting and waiting for the new concept car from General Motors ,that would rock my mind. In an enviromental friendly world with limited pollution, and high gas prices. It will be hard to live up to a feeling from the 1960s basic tech to todays hightech technology, with computerized made cars. A true muscle car is not envieromental friendly, either for your wallet. Just to buy it you need alot of money, and to drive it also. A real muscle car is something that just by looking at it ,you become like a kid , no mather how old you are. Todays youth dont know what a real muscelcar is, they think it is some japanese import with a small engine but have high rpms. And sounds like a sewingmachine, made with light weight material that make it unsafe to drive. Unlike the old muscelcars ,thats sits on the road like a magnet and runs like a train. If anybody mention musclecars i start to think about some exclusive auction firm like for ex Barrett/Jackson. Muscle cars is a big investment today. You are very lucky if u have one..For many it means big money ,for other it means passion and love. For me it is history..
