"Why don't you BOTH go ashore and leave the ship in MY command?"

Pirates searching for lost treasure get unusually philosophical and argue over metaphysics in a rather obvious attempt I think to torpedo the franchise so that those involved can shift to making movies with deeper meaning instead of being stuck on a treadmill of sequels.

A sequel should be able to stand on its own and be good, solid entertainment even for those that missed the last entry. This is the third and final entry in the trilogy (until they can find an opening/excuse to make a fourth one given how much money this one made) of a series of films based upon a ride at Disney World. I got my fill of it with the first one which was a fun enough popcorn movie. I feel that I am uniquely qualified to review this title having not seen the previous chapter in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

But I was immediatley lost watching this one wondering if the series was turning into musical theatre then trying to figure out how Captain Hector Barbossa (Rush) had gotten in league with the heroes (Bloom as Will Turner and Knightley as Elizabeth Swann) of the original. The further the narrative went and the more cryptic the dialogue got only served to muddy the waters further for me more in trying to make sense out of the plot. One really needs to be into the series and have kept track of even the tiniest details I suspect.

Then characters start switching sides and double-crossing each other in one plot twist after another and by the end it is difficult to comprehend all that has happened let alone articulate it.

Johnny Depp used to be just a musician from Kentucky who went to Hollywood to make it in the music business. He dabbled in acting and decided to learn the craft after he had become a teen idol on the TV series 21 Jump Street. Having captivated women for a generation he is now recognised as one of Hollywood's best actors. He happens to best leading men in Hollywood today and is perhaps one of the very best ever.

The Pirates of the Caribbean series of films and their ability to generate enormous profit served
