How To tell if You are being exploited.
Are you making minimum wages? You are being exploited. One reason some people are being exploited are Unions in the work place. They do get you higher pay but at what cost. If everyone each year got a raise of 5% then the price of groceries would go up, fuel, lights & Phone. Don't forget Taxes They would go up a few percentage points on main taxes but specialty taxes would rise alot on oil, gas, Cigarettes etc. Its too big a circle and the ones in the Union have to get paid so we have to pay their wages. They don't have to labor but just keep your money & attend a few meetings each year. When they do get you a raise it only ends up being gobbled up by taxes, and all the other goodies mentioned above that all of a sudden need more money. Just for an experiment try somthing, go online and see if there is a site wher you can go back five years. Find the price of groceries at say a regular grocery mart Foodland. Perhaps it may have been Wades back then but check then and now prices. I'll bet groceries are more than 75% higher.

The second way is if an employer wants to lower costs of things in his company and hes had several employees for many years that have continued building his business for him. He is probably paying them pretty well so all he has to say is the company is downsizing and needs to let some people go so they start laying off people not because of bad workers or costs but because they were costing too much to make the bigger profit they would make by hiring new employees. You may like to get a raise but it may have been better to keep your job with out the raise. This may seem unfair but it is done constantly.
Where did exploitation start.
I think it started a long, long time ago and back then it was called slavery, but you know from what I've read about slaves back in early times, they were treated as well if not better than people with 9-5 jobs. I'm not talking about the Slavery in the USA but the slavery back in Bible times. Slaves were bought so the people could survive in hard times or victims of wars so used as slaves. In any case they were freed after seven years unless they wanted to stay slaves and many did because of hard economic times. This kind of slavery was acceptable and probably would be today in cases where extreme poverty was in certain lands and people just wanted out. Today when we work a 9-5 job for minimum wage we are less well off than those slaves of bible times.
Ways to not be exploited.
If we are careful when we apply for a job to see what is written in the contract as jobs should be today. When we are hired by someone we are building their business so we should be treated as someone who is a part of their business not a throw away item. If a job doesn't have the job outline in writing then beware. People today are desperate for work so jump in and take the job without doing much research. The Internet is a good way to research a job before taking it. Most reliable jobs are on line in some, way, shape or form. Make sure they know you have checked their web site and know a little about their mission so they may gain some respect for you. There is really no way to be certain about any job we may take until we have had a few paychecks and this is still not a sure thing because time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all. Exploitation is never going to be done away with anymore than wage parity, equality, and any other thing made by man.
