You will probably have to rent a car out of McCarran International. Cheesecake and Crime is in the Eastern Commons Shopping Center behind the Colonial Bank in Henderson NV. Go before the desire becomes a necessity.

Last week, I drove in fog listening to CD's of James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux mysteries. My mental fog cleared in Kanab, Utah. NRP news out of Salt Lake City said that Will Penny, aka Chuck Heston, had died.

Grief fueled depression and powerful craving for coffee and cheesecake. Would it be enough to see me through the southwest corner of Utah and South past the Vegas strip? I wished I'd awakening on the south side of the Grand Canyon coming across the Hoover Dam an almost directly shot into the Henderson/Vegas area where the combination bookstore and snack joint that Pamela Mains and Lendall Mains started would satisfy my craving. Successful, the shop, now with a staff of half a dozen, the oasis for mind and body is south of St. Rose Pkwy on S. Eastern Ave.

It is becoming warm as I drive North of Mt. Trumbel and through the polygamists village of Colorado City Arizona. Maybe I should write a travel mystery...
