Acne is a common skin ailment that is suffered by people at all ages and all around the world and regardless of gender. Depending on its severity, it's a condition that can be minor to one that is very painful and can lead to infection and issues of self-esteem. The causes of acne are many including fluctuating hormones, to skin type and sometimes caused by stress.
Found at your local pharmacy are many treatments for this condition. But the problem with some of these creams and lotions are that they not only claim to treat the area effected, but can also be quite abrasive to the skin and can contain harmful chemicals.
Following are some great home remedies for the treatment of acne on all areas of the body that are effective in easing the blemish to eliminating some of its causes.
CLEANSING THE SKIN
To avoid acne it's important to keep the skin clean. Oil deposits gather under the skin into pockets and are captured; this then leads to eventual acne. There is no need to use harmful chemicals to clean the skin of oil and dirt residue, but can be achieved by using some simple home remedies.
Wash your face of a morning and of an evening with hot water to clean oil and dirt residue that may have collected on the surface of the skin.
~Steam Bath
Fill a bowl with hot water and hang your head over it to allow the steam to open up your pours.
You could also add some apple cider vinegar to the hot water or some lemon juice as these act as anti bacterial substances. Apple cider vinegar is also great for neutralizing the PH levels of the skin.
MASKS
Many masks can be made at home for acne that helps draw toxins from the pores of the skin. Here are some of the most popular used, just be aware of the natural food items used in case of allergy.
~Egg Whites and Lemon Juice
Separate the egg whites from the yolk. Using the egg whites add two drops of lemon essential oil or lemon juice from a fresh lemon. Paste it onto your skin that is normally affected by acne. Allow the egg to dry and then wash off with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
~Avocado Mask
Pulp the meat of an avocado in a bowl and mix with a little water to create a paste. Apply this to the skin and leave on for a few minutes then wash off with water and pat dry with a towel.
~Oatmeal and Milk
Create a paste by using some oatmeal and milk and stirring until it's smooth in consistency. Apply to the skin and leave on for a few minutes then wash off with warm water and pat dry with a towel. This mixture is a great exfoliate
