Can you really earn $50 with Reviewstream.com

by Jennifer Eblin

Created on: April 07, 2008

I am here to tell you that you can make $50 with Review Stream, and if you are willing to dedicate yourself to the site, you might reach that amount faster than you ever thought possible. I'm not saying you can make your $50 in a few hours, but easily within a week.

Review Stream pays you $2 for each review that you write that fits the style of the site. If you're hoping for a style guide though, good luck and keep looking. They don't actually tell you what style they are looking for. If the review doesn't fit their guidelines, they will pay you 1/5 of that price. This is what they consider the bulk rate.

The website does not allow you to save drafts of your review, so you need to save a copy yourself. This is probably a good idea since there are horror stories of people losing their reviews between submission and publication. You have the option of checking the bulk rate box, which means they can pay you that rate without telling you. Or you can leave the box unchecked, and hope for the bigger payment.

In my experience, the $2 reviews happen about once for every ten reviews. Since I tend to write a lot of book, movie, and television reviews though this makes sense. I have received the $2 payment for reviews of stores, hotels, local guides, tourist attractions, electronics, and some cosmetic products. I've also had reviews of local stores turned down, with only a note saying that the product needed to be more specific. Since a large number of those emails come through immediately, or within a few minutes, I doubt someone actually reads all the reviews.

I am one of the people who made the $50 payout with Review Stream. Actually I made $56 with the site, and am currently around $16 into my second payment. Now though I am wondering how many people make payout twice. My reviews are being either published or turned down immediately, and only reviews longer than 400 or 500 words make the $2 amount.

I have recently begun writing more about books, movies, and television. I have found that I can put together a review pretty quickly, and 40 cents is more than I would get if I wrote about it on my own blog.

If you are willing to spend a week or two writing about the products in your own home, you will find that you can easily reach the $50 payout within a week or two.
