Automotive antiques: 1950 Ford Coupe

- THE 1950 FORD CUSTOM CLUB COUPE -

The Ford Company was established in 1903 when their first model was produced. In 1908 the first model T hit the streets of the UK and proved to be a huge success for the Ford Company. Over the years Ford has proved their weight and in 1950 the solid Ford Coupe graced us with its arrival. It was an immediate success with the British public, who were bowled over with its classic design and commanding presence.

The 1950 Ford Custom Club Coupe is an absolute stunner, with heaps of character; Characterised by its abundance of chrome hugging the front, rear fenders and strips to the side. Sporting round headlamps and an exceptionally stylish club body, the Ford Coupe has plenty of boot space, and it looks like the kind of car that you could imagine a 1950's detective driving around in.

With its good looks, Spacious interior, and plenty of leg room, the Ford Custom Coupe was a massive success. Moderations were made to the chrome grill later, but the famous V8 Engine and 3 speed transmission stood its ground. Emblazoned with plenty of chrome to front, sides, and rear, the WOW factor of this car is still apparent today. It's an absolute beauty. The Ford Coupe has its own club, like the model T, and it is today a highly desirable motor car.

In the US there is a lot of interest in customising the Ford Coupe and I have seen some amazing jobs done, with painted flames licking up the bonnet, and two toned effects which look very impressive. This 2 door beauty attracted attention at every turn, and was equally at home on the winding country lanes and on the town roads.

This was possibly the most handsome car that the Ford Company produced, boasting large seats with cream covering, an impressive dash, wide windscreen, the Ford Coupe was a solid car built to last. You would have no problems finding repair and parts for the mighty Coupe as there are many dealers and collectors through the US and UK, as well as the many online resources. The Ford Custom Club Coupe; what a fantastic looking motor car! A mighty machine, with a charm all of its own.-
