Poetry: Links

We are all connected
like links in a chain,
each one completes the other
the family ties remain,

A perfect circle with
no beginning or end,
mother father brother
sister, child and friend,

The bonds of family define us
our friendships keep us sane,
sharing trials and tribulations
happiness sorrow and pain,

We carry these links
between you and me,
Shaping who we are
all we will be,

Time passes
the links grow stronger,
sharing each special moment
these links become our memories,

Cherish these links,
do not let them be broken
say how you feel
never leave words unspoken,

Hold on tight
never letting go,
keeping these links together
no matter where we go,

Sharing the laughter
blood sweat and tears,
Loving and caring
throughout all the years,

Links never forgotten
our history will show,
the faded photographs
of those we used to know,

Keeping our loved ones
close in our hearts and minds,
telling stories to each generation
of our ancestral ties that bind,

Celebrations of joy and happiness
moments of sorrow and pain,
In time only the memories remain
lockets hold pictures close to our hearts,
held together forever by links in a chain.

    Links

    They went everywhere!
    Strewn across the lands.
    I went in search.
    With love and care.

I began in a small village.
    They wore
