I saw you sitting there on the road
A "Help Wanted" sign by your side
But I had no money to toss to you
As you lay there frozen and cried
So instead I sat beside you
I listened to your upsetting tale
About how your mother abandoned you
And left you on the streets, sick and pale
You said you had no father
He had died when you were just a baby
But you thought that he had just ran away
And he was still alive, just maybe
I asked how long you'd been sitting there
You told me that you didn't know
It had been at least a few years
Since the first time you'd lived in the snow
You told me you wouldn't go to soup kitchens
And you were too afraid to go to shelters in town
So everyday I brought you help however I could
And then one day I noticed, your sign now read "Help Found"
