Why is it better to give than Receive?
I have always been a giving sort of person, not big things, just a little thing. I do not have a lot of money so pretty much everything I give is made from one craft project or another. I know a great many different crafts so it is not hard to come up with something special for someone that I wish to give a little gift. I just love to watch the expressions on someone's face when I give them something small or large at times, the surprised expression is just terrific. Most of the time when I give someone something that I have made, brightens up that person's day, it makes them feel special and it makes me feel good about giving that little pick-me-up smile.
Don't get me wrong, I just love to receive gifts, but it is the giving of little gifts, that makes my heart swell with pride, just knowing that I can bring a smile to someone's face, makes me feel truly wonderful inside.
Giving material things is not always the way to help bring a smile onto someone face, doing something for them that they may not be able to do, or do not have the time to do, makes a lot of difference to people. The giving of your time is a very good way to show someone that you care enough to help them. You do not have to give a lot of time or energy into helping someone that makes the moment special, it's the giving of yourself that makes it special.
I do not expect or want to get something in return when I give a gift to someone, just knowing that they appreciate what they have been given, it makes them feel special and it will make you feel good about yourself. I have always loved the fact that I can bring a smile and a precious moment to someone.
It is truly amazing the way a person feel when they receive a little gift from someone, especially if they do not know whom gave it to them. You sit back and watch the smile on their face, the little lift in their otherwise normal day. It brightens their performance for the rest of the day and you feel great just knowing that you are responsible for bringing that twinkle in their eye and the smile on their face.
It always brings a warm feeling to my heart just knowing that I, myself alone, can bring a little happiness to a friend or co-worker and liven up their day, this is a truly great feeling.
