How to cheer up your sulking wife
It may be an anniversary forgotten, a promise broken, or voice raised; the men in our lives have a way of pouring cold water on our moods. Personally, even something as small a voice raised at me just dampens my mood and puts me in quiet mode, sometimes lasting the entire day. Many men will say a quick sorry and expect life to go on as usual. For many women, that is simply not enough. Often times, men do not realize that it is the little things that can lift a woman's mood and make her feel loved and cared for. Guys are likely to make sexual advances at their women, hoping that it will cheer them up. That works for men, not for women! When a woman is low emotionally, sex is the last thing on her mind! Guys here are some 10 things you can do to cheer up your woman, when she is low, for whatever reason.
1) Say sorry if you were wrong (and sometimes, even when you were not). It is hard, but it is the super-glue of relationships and its' just two words. Do not give any excuses. Just keep it at: "Am Sorry Honey."
2) Get her something special. She is hurting and needs to feel special. A bouquet of flowers (or even a flower picked from the garden or nearby bush) will make her smile. Chocolate, ice-cream, a stuffed animal or anything sweet and silly, will work too.
3) If you can survive it, cook her something special or her favorite meal and serve it to make an impression. Even the rock-hardest woman will melt at the effort even if some of the food may be burnt.
4) Play some beautiful music or her favorite song and get her to dance with you. She may resist a bit (remember at this point her pride is high too), but she will be smiling inside. She may not look you in the face when she accepts, but by the middle of the song, you will have made up.
5) Paint her toe nails. Your hands might shake and the paint may go all over her toes, but that will make her laugh. And then she will try to show you how to do it. And she will be talking and laughing again.
6) Write her a little love note or a love letter and place it somewhere you know she will definitely find it. My husband sometimes sticks notes on the bathroom mirror or on the computer screen and those are my two favorite destinations in the house.
7) Do a household chore that you normally leave for her. Do the dishes, the laundry or vacuum the carpet. That will make her feel appreciated.
8) Tell a few jokes. She may pretend not to laugh. And you may feel like a fool, but the truth is she will turn the other way and smile. If you are funny enough, she will eventually laugh out loud and there you have her.
9) If you have kids, work with them. Tell them you upset mommy and you want to cheer her up. (Do not download onto them the details of your issues). You will be surprised at the brilliant ideas kids have. Together you can work out a little skit or poem or something fun to do, to get mommy back into her good spirits. Kids work magic with moms!
10) Promise never to do what you did again and do not do it again! At least try not to.
