is a tough job. Just knowing your products and believing in your products are not enough. There are just people around who just won't buy your things regardless of how skillful you are or how well you are able to sell your products. Sales is a number game. Just keep talking to people, do your normal routines of calling people and have your activities.
7. Discipline
Like I say before, you need to talk to many people, make many calls, or even knock at doors, the main thing is to be disciplined. Everyday have a routine of talking to a specific number of people, and have follow-ups. Ultimately you will find some who will like you and buy from you. Just like the parable of the seeds. You need to sow the seeds at various places. Some will grow and some will not. You won't know the outcome. But just do your normal routines and you will be rewarded one day. It takes time to see the result.
8. Patient
As mention earlier, it takes time to see the results. Just like when you are starting a fire. Before you can get a fire, you need to gather all the necessary things, and after that, fire would be successful after some stages of smoke emission(from fanning and so on). Similarly, it takes time for people to have response to you.
9. Commitment and Work Hard
With the discipline to work your daily rootings of sowing the seeds, at the same time, looking after your clients(watering your plants at the same time), having the commitment to sow your seeds and water the plants everyday and the ability to work hard and do well seriously is essential for the seeds and plants to grow well.
10. Everything counts. Gain your customer's trust.
When you are serious in your job, putting your customers in the first place, thinking of the needs of the customers and always seek to serve them whenever they need you and promptly, deliver what you promise. Do not overpromise. Always give a helping hand when you can. Give advice when you can. Do not be selfish. Every little things that you do your customers can see, can feel and they know and even at times when they never thanked you, they already 'accept' you in their hearts. Once you gain the customers' trust, you can 'sell' easily to them as they believe you. They might even refer their friends and kins to you!
If you have all these essential elements in you, I am sure in a matter of time, you will be a top salesperson. In other words, if a person with the right attitude, proper training, willing to learn and work hard constantly doing his/her routines daily, serving his existing customers and prospect ethically, in time to come he/she will be a top salesperson.
