I consider myself to be a pretty avid supporter of waxing, even though I am fairly new to it, and have spent most of my life shaving. Since I started hair removal years ago, I have always wanted the smoothness that waxing brings, and the shorter time for removal which it also brings. Waxing instills alot of fear in women, but it is not that terrible if you take your time and also do it step by step.
1. First, choose a great brand of wax. I have found that Nair is one of the best brands to use because it gives not cloth strips to pull the wax off, but instead gives a wooden applicator to apply the wax. The wax eventually dries on your skin, and you pull off the wax. This is alot easier because you do not have to worry about the cloth slipping off the wax as you are pulling it, which is something that happens very often. I also like a brand that was popular about ten years ago called Sweet Simplicity. It came in a package which contained the cloth strips, a container of wax, and an applicator. It also included some after-wax soothing liquid you could apply to calm the skin. It was pretty inexpensive, only about twenty dollars. Sadly, I do not even know if it exists before. It was a great kit for beginners.
2. Second, exfoliate your skin with a great exfoliator before waxing. This ensures that all the dead and dry skin will be scrubbed off, and the hairs will be more able to get pulled out of their root (sounds painful, but it is not as bad as it seems). It will also leave your skin with more of a glow before and after you wax.
3. Apply the wax, or the cloth strips one at a time. Fist, place the wax on your skin, and press it down. Then, rip it up as quickly as possible. Just one motion, right off. The longer it stays there, the more painful it will be. Before you even know what has just happened, the wax is off, and you are applying your second section of wax. It goes by so quickly, it will be over before you know it.
4. Hold your skin taut as you pull of the wax with the other hand so that the hairs are able to be removed quicker. This prevents a rash from forming. The hairs are also more ready to be removed because you are supporting the base of the skin.
5. After you have finished all of the sections, apply some soothing after-wax lotion or cream. Most brands come with some form of this. This helps to prevent redness and soreness, but you have to apply it right after waxing.
I would like to bring out some other points now as well. To begin
