PINATA SONATA
Every date, dressed to the nines,
Wearing all the latest lines,
He paraded, catwalk stride,
Felling beauties side to side.
A pinata, filled with sweet,
He would sweep folks off their feet.
Seeking secrets hid within,
Everybody flocked to him.
Like a bright flamingo pink,
He lived ever on the brink.
Slightly tipsy, but well clad,
Noncommittal, this nomad.
At last, this swinger got his due.
Then his whirling ways were through.
This pinata, flying high,
Was struck down by passers-by.
Lovely ladies lined up long
Each companion he'd done wrong.
Swatting strong and striking fast,
They assailed him at full blast.
Soon his fancy shell was tossed,
And his reputation lost.
Then his dance card drew a blank,
To be absolutely frank.
But I must get this off my chest-a.
He was the life of each fiesta.
