Poetry: I dare you

by Rex Coker

Created on: April 06, 2008   Last Updated: April 08, 2008

I dare you to ask yourself what you hold most dear,
To answer with a responsive thought,
To make your answer quite fresh and clear,
To fight for those things hard fought,
I dare you to have no fear,

I dare you to show me the way,
To your heart and open it wide,
To forget the games that you play,
For once forget your pride,
I dare your to have the last word to say,

I dare you to take a chance,
On love for once in your life,
To part the way with a forward glance,
To let me make you my wife,
I dare you to take the stance,

I dare you to dare me,
To see if I can meet your standards,
I will not run or flee,
Or fall from grace with out lanyards,
I dare you to fall for me.
