Young people and computer games

Computers games is one of the best ways of entertainment. I personally spend more than six hours straight almost every time I play computer. Why is it so fun? Mainly because of the accuracy of the simulations that computer games producers can make. We feel exactly like we were inside of a car if we play a car's game for example. Ever tried Need for Speed: Underground? In my opinion this is the best racing game ever made because I feel exactly like a real driver.

What's the connection between young people and computer games? Simple, they are the top gamers because their minds are open to new experiences. They also have the most free time than any other social status person. They are in high school or university most of the times and they do not work more than eight hours per day. This makes an attractive market to computer games producers who create even more games to these people.

Older games used to focus on playability and challenge. Games were fascinating because they meant something big to be achieved such as beating a particular enemy or passing a certain level. Gamers were proud to tell their friends about their latest car or their latest sword and how they defeated a particular monster or what secret shortcuts they discovered on the race game. Good times it used to be.

Now games only focus on attractive graphic to make people buy the latest tittles. The games are not even challenging anymore. When we beat them we don't fell proud of ourselves nor do we want to brag about it to our friends.

I think that companies should focus again on making games challenging again and making them attractive to core gamers too. Just playing online against other human players soon becomes boring because there is no same challenge to every one.

Can you remember the most played games of all time that are still played today such as Final Fantasy 7, Prince of Persia, Wolfenstein 3-D, Worms 2 and Armagedon, Duke Nukem 3-D and similar games? People never get tired of playing such games, they are fun and challenging at the same time.

Do you agree with me that companies should make games like they used too some decades ago?
