Today's tourist hot spot brings me to the nation's first bookstore/cheesecake venture, CHEESECAKE AND CRIME, located in exciting Las Vegas. People were milling about reviewing the wide variety of books, and looking at the cheesecakes behind clean glass. They looked scrumptious! There was every delicious topping you could think of, plus their own original blend.

Managing to steal the owner away for a few moments, we sat for a cup of cappuccino. I couldn't resist the temptation to choose a slice of cheesecake with peach and pecan topping.

"Has the business turned out to be all you expected, Marty?" I inquired.

"Oh goodness yes! That and more. When we began years back, we truly expected to be a mom and pop's start up that may get lost in the glitz of Vegas. But folks just like to calm down from the lights, and enjoy a good cheesecake sometime. We just sort of threw the books in there to help them slow their pace down. . .do a little reflection, you know?"

"Any chance of franchising like STAR BUCKS?" It was a question that couldn't be avoided

"No need to. This is nice, serving great cheesecake in the heart of America's fun land."
