Does teenage attitude toward homosexual men cause violence and hatred

I believe that the teenager's thoughts and actions towards homosexuality is very unnecessary, not only toward the male homosexuals, but toward all homosexuals. A child is not born to hate. A child is taught to hate by parents, grandparents, other teens, and haters.
What would you do if you teenage son, or daughter approached you in trust to tell you that he/she was gay? I have thought about this often. My son, who is only 3 months old will grow up faster then I know. If he were to ever come to me and say, "Mom, I'm gay," I'm not sure what I would say, but I would not judge him in anyway or send him to a mental intuition. I will support him until the day I die.

One-Third of all teens that commit suicide are gay. Teens are taught that being gay is such a terrible thing. They feel that they would be judged by society, and they would. They feel their parents and friends may disown them. I am sure a million different thought are running through their heads. Why? Would you rather lose your child or friend than accept the fact that they are gay? It's a simple question. Why Judge them? You don't have to like the fact, they will be gay no matter what you say or do. So why not accept it?
Lawrence King, a 15 year old, from California, asked Brandon McInery to be his Valentine. A few days afterwards, Brandon shot Lawrence and killed him. Not only is an 8th grader dead for being gay, but the other 8th grader's life is ruined for committing murder. After watching a clip from Ellen Degeneres, on You Tube about these two kids, I was shocked. Speechless. What made Brandon hate gays so much that he felt Lawrence deserved to die? How come he just didn't say, "No, thanks, I'm not gay,"?

I talk a lot about being a parent in this article, but put yourself in Brandon's parents' shoes. Their 14 year old son has committed murder, killing a 15 year old boy for being gay. Your son's life is ruined. If he's tried as an adult, he could serve most of his life in prison, visiting you through a glass window for the next 20-30 years.
I find this astonishing, why would you teach your child to hate? Not only is it the parents and elders, it's the peers and society. I don't understand why homosexuality is so frowned upon. They are people, just like me and you. They have feelings. They pay taxes. They work and pay their bills. But because a man or woman falls in love with someone from the same sex, they are treated 100% different by society.

I feel if something is not done about this, we will continue to see more hate, more crime against homosexuality. Does someone honestly deserve to die because they are gay? Nothing is going to stop someone from being a homosexual. You can hate them, kill them, do whatever you can to discourage them, but nothing will stop them! If you're gay, you're gay. They will stand strong, and they will not give up! They deserve the same rights as my husband and I. People should teach that being gay is just another lifestyle that someone chooses. We don't judge vegetarians for not eating meat, or people who have different religions, or cultures, so why should anyone have the right to judge anyone?
