What is isometric exercise? If you don't know, you are not alone, few people know about this exercise technique or how it can drastically change your body. Isometric trainers claim that isometrics can totally transform your body. The key to Isometrics is that you use your own body for resistance, or a towel, door frame, weights, just about anything can be used to help enhance your workout.
Isometric exercises
Muscle control
Bodyweight
Weight lifting
With isometrics, muscle control is done without the aid of weights. If you want to sculpt your biceps you bend your arm at the elbow, your forearm should be at a forty five degree angle. Your arm should be straight and hugging your side from the shoulder to the elbow. Picture a weight in your hand, with your arm flexed, tense your bicep as tight as you can, and don't forget not to move the arm. Your muscle should feel warm and tired as the blood rushes to the muscle.
With Isometrics you receive all of the same benefits that you do weight lifting or strength training. Benefits like increased lean muscle mass. By participating in a regular muscle training the workout stimulates new lean muscle tissue. This is key for the sculpted look that you want, but more importantly is burns fat so that you can stay healthy, plus it strengthens your bones and keeps you feeling young.
Another benefit is an increased metabolism. Your metabolism increases with the more lean tissue that you have which in turn burns more calories. And lean muscle requires more calories to maintain it than fat.
Isometric exercise can increase weight loss which coincides with a faster metabolism. You need 75 calories to maintain lean muscle tissue, but fat only requires 3 calories. So if you do the math, if you add 5 pounds of muscle you will burn 20 to 25 pounds of fat per year doing absolutely nothing!
There are added health benefits provided by using isometric exercise, regular training can increase the density and hardness of bones, safe guarding you against osteoporosis. It also produces more HDL which is your good cholesterol and it reduces your bad cholesterol which is called LDL. And reducing your risk for heart disease is the greatest benefit of all.
