How developing countries are adapting or preparing to adapt to the impacts of global climate change

Title endorsed in part by:

Global warming has occurred on several occasions throughout our planet's history. It will continue to happen throughout our planet's future. All known events have been caused by natural disasters and none so far due to man's interaction with the natural balance of our world. Until now.

Advancement in sciences is now able to clearly prove beyond all reasonable doubt that pollution caused by the squandering of our natural resources has speed-ed up the arrival of our next global event.

The largest contributors to our impending doom has been the worlds wealthiest nations. Over the last 100 years of industrial revolution, spurred on by technological advances has generated vast fortunes for the top eight countries. Impacting on our planet's natural balance with billions of tons of harmful greenhouse gasses.

Third world nations are now being burdened with the mammoth task of reducing production of greenhouse gasses whilst still trying to bring their peoples out of poverty. Their growth is being seriously impaired through trade restrictions and huge interest rates on third world debt.

Developing countries are not able to adapt to the impact of global climate change without endangering the health and well-being of the population. Nor indeed should they have to bear the responsibility of trying to address the imbalances caused by more prosperous and technologically advanced nations.

If the desire is to truly reduce production of harmful gasses on a global scale then the developing nations have to be given every possible assistance in securing a future for their people.

Not only do they need all the latest technology given to them freely but also they need the complete eradication of all debts, existing and continued. Not just industrialized help but also far greater assistance with their nations medical needs. It cannot remain the case that children in developing countries are still dieing from diseases that can be completely eradicated by a vaccination costing a few cents.

Impossible? no, Unaffordable? no, Achievable? most definitely. You cannot tell anyone that if they are hungry or cold or ill that they cannot burn trees, if trees are their only form of fuel. Give them a renewable energy alternative such as wind turbine, solar panel, wave motion or nuclear power and they no longer need to burn forests.

Neither do we.
