Single parenting, something easily associated with single mothers raising a child or children. Most articles i have read assumes thats a single 'mother' is the sole bread winners when it comes to single parenting. There will be articles about 'work at home for single moms', help groups for single 'moms', great offers to ease the work load for single 'moms', etc. How about single 'dad' that has an equal share in this world when it comes to single parenting.

I am a single dad, caring for 3 lovely children between the ages of 9 and 6. I sometimes find it difficult to cope with everyday life. Jobs to complete, household chores to finish, which never ever finishes, meals to prepare, lessons to conduct. We usually find it easier to honor and respect a single mother for all their hard work, when it comes to raising children. I wish I am respected and honored for my efforts, but that usually never happens. I guess being a single father is something not many can comprehend. A very unlikely situation where a father stays at home doing all the house work and trying to earn a living at the same time. Maybe I'm just sore at the world, for recognizing a 'mother' and not the 'father' when it comes to single parenting. Or maybe I am looking at the wrong places. Or maybe other 'fathers' in the same situation I'm in, are too proud to admit to doing a mothers job. I don't know.

Maybe its just a plea to the world to recognize the 'father' and give 'fathers' a pat on their backs every once and awhile. That would be really nice. Thats how I feel, but thats just me.
