I like this subject, just the title a "Home Office" creates images of sitting at a desk under a warm fuzzy blanket listening to classical music, right? Well maybe and maybe not. What better place to organize your life and your business then in a home office environment?

A place you can decorate any way you want, put your feet up on the desk any time you please.

A place that allows you to leave behind the car, the train, the alarm clock and most importantly the commute. A great way to avoid accidents due to icy roads or sun glared asphalts and traffic! Imagine every day is a snow day! Yes traffic and the nightmare of getting to work on time! Imagine the only traffic you had to contend with is the Internet super highway and for that a good "computer geek" will solve any congestion problem you run into. The most popular attraction of working from home these days is the elimination of expenses such as dry cleaning; oh yeah really, try the most obvious on the list and that is the silent killer of your finance and evaporation machine attached to your wallet; gas! That smell of sweet crude that seems to enter through your side view mirror as your checking out the expression on the gas attendants face as he is filling you up. Does he know what your thinking, is he thinking the same thing you are? Think of the savings you missed had you used a self serve pump; not mention the avoidance of eye contact! But wait no one cares especially the service attendant except perhaps your accountant.

All the trials and tribulations of making yourself feel welcomed with your office peers are gone in a home office, your space is your space and its everywhere! No one cares if you sleep in or are sleepless forget the Ambiance! You don't need to impress with new clothes and bathing becomes optional although I suggest keeping bathing a normal daily thing, cleanliness is next to godliness! I like to keep regular routines just as when going out to work this is part of my home office traditions that I can't seem to break from; I start at 9 and quit a 5! Yeah right!

I am indeed like a well trained puppy when it comes to doing my work hence when it comes to relaxing I don't use a slovenly lifestyle to set me back, I'll only have to clean it up later! I have found that maintaining all the office values and skills from years gone by has helped me to create the unique style I have today. Call it a kind of office panache or just old sophistication turned modern day work place; whatever
