Title endorsed in part by:
a past Washington conference on global warming Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, the President of Iceland agreed that Iceland is an ideal place to study and experiment how to change the effects of global warming. However, he warned that the "forces that dominate the earth are much stronger than human capabilities".
How well we all know that. An hour or so ago while working on this article I was well into my description of the purity of the Icelandic gene pool and of the people inhabiting that country who despite invading other countries - if stories of the Viking adventures can be believed - was not invaded by others. Oh, they were dominated and ruled by neighboring countries such as Denmark but basically their DNA shows very slight dilution.
Boom: A lightening streak flashed and a clap of thunder roared and off went my computer. A perfect demonstration for what the President of Iceland said. We are all subject to conditions and influences above and beyond us. I went back to sleep until the sky quieted down. I now am
reconstructing the gene pool thoughts as well as I can; but I admit these words are not as enthusiastic as the former ones were.
The name will probably stay the change. At least we on the outside can pronounce it. (As well as the sources mentioned above, National Geographic magazine March 2000 contributed to facts about Iceland in general.)
