Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/ ) is one of the if not the best rss feed reader online. If you don't know already rss stands for "Really simple syndication". Its used for subscribing to different blogs or news sources. You can use feed readers like Google Reader to have a one stop place to reed all the feeds you subscribe to. Its a one stop place for all your news updated continuously.
For any already registered Googler its super quick and easy to get Google Reader set up. You just go over to: http://www.google.com/reader/ enter in your password and your ready to go. If you have been living under a rock and don't already have a Google account is quick and easy to set up and you can do it from the same address. What separates Google from other feed readers is its ease of use and clean interface. Also not all feed reader are online, some are deflatable programs. Whats better about using an online feed reader like Google Reader is that you can access your feed subscriptions from anywhere, not just your own computer.
to get started with any feed reader you naturally want to add some feeds. Google make some readers don't make this very easy. To add a feed to Google Reader you just click on Google Reader like most Google products keeps the same white and like blue/green color scheme which is easy on the eyes. Obviously this extremely easy and quick, which surprising the button, "Add Subscription" and it just drops down, and you can easily paste the feed then click add. Google reader uses Ajax so you do not need to be brought to another page to add the feed, the box just drops down. If your new to rss feeds you can Click the "Discover" button and browse to fin any feeds by searching like you would with Google. Also under the "Discover" section are recommendations which come alive as you add and read feeds. The recommendations are actually quiet good and I usually visit this everyone in a while to get some new feeds.
Once you got all your feeds ready they will start to update as things gets published to them and then your ready to read. Google Reader does not update the feeds the moment the blog or news source is updated, but I find it fairly fast. Some folks have complained about the slow speed of Google Reader but unless you need up to the second news it will be just fine for you. When reading your feeds, you can have it set to show everything, or just items you have not read yet. I personally like it set to only show items I have not read yet, and this
