Wonderfully located in southern Germany, the capital of the state of Baden-Wuettemberg, fascinates visitors from all over th world with its magnificent panorame, the splendid gardens and parks, wonderful vine-yards, glorious palaces, beutiful buildings in different architectural styles and cultural sites. But Stuttgart is well known not only because of all these things but also because of the Stuttgart Beer Festival, the Christmas Market ( the largest,one of the oldest and most beautiful in Europe), Spring and Summer Festivals.

Stuttgart is world famous because of its high-tech industry. Many companies like Porsche, Daimler AG, Hewlen-Packard, IBM, Bosch have located their main offices here. It is said that Stuttgart is "the cradle of the automobile". Probably it is so because the world automotive industry started here.

There are four castles and palaces in Stuttgart: the New Castle, the Castle Solitude, Residence Castle Ludwigsburg and Favorite Castle Ludwigsburg. From all of them I liked the Solitude most. It is not a true castle, it is a very beautiful rokoko palace.

During my stay here I visited the Staatsgallerie where I spent wonderful time in the old gallery. Tehre are many old German paintings, Dutch paintings and Italian paintings. Next to the old building there is the new one which houses a collection of modern art (20 c.). Paintings from Picasso to Joan Miro and Joseph Beuys could be seen here.

The public gardens and parks in Stuttgart offer the opportunity for everybody to relax and spend some time in green and among the beautiful flowers. 20 % of the territory of the city is under landscape protection. The most attractive place is the Wilhelma zoo and Botanical garden with its butterfly house, Greenhouse, pretty flowers and animals. The lakes and ponds which surround the Moorish Villa are very remarkable and attractive.

Many people who like the automobile industry come and visit Stuttgart because of the modern Porsche and Mercedes-Benz Museums. Historical development and cars could be seen in the museums. The building of the Mercedes Museum has a very interesting modern architectural style. It includes restaurants and museum shops.
