material needs to include practical use of the applications. Marks should stop being the main criteria for deciding which child is smarter than another. Our teachers need to see that the brain is not the "thinking" part of the body. The brain is merely storage. The mind is not the brain; it is the key to the success of all students, young or old. Yes, education should include core subjects but they need to be presented in relation to the world our students are living in.
Thinking has to be encouraged beyond the mere ability to read a text book. Let history touch their imagination and their hearts. Let science excite them. Let literature, art and music express their inner being. Teach people to be active participants in global affairs. Get them interested in being of service to the world. Let them stumble and fall;congratulate them for speaking out, asking questions and day dreaming.
