I am not running away, I swear
Just stepping out to get some air
That is not the wind beneath my feet
Just a breeze ever so sweet
Fresh air is all I ask
A moment alone is all I need
Don't get the wrong impression
I would never just up and leave
I'd never dream or disappearing
Or taking off in the night
Just a little breath of freedom
Is why I run with all my might
Why would you think different
What makes you think of me so
Just stepping out for a bit
It sure seems like a good night to go
Can't we pretend you don't see me leaving
That I'm only gone for a little ride
That the midnight mist will pass
And I'll still be standing by your side
