This year my fiancee is turning thirty and I have been planning his present for some time now. It is something he always wanted to do especially for his thirtieth birthday but now that we have a daughter he changed his mind because it is expensive and he does not want to get hurt, but I know it sits in the back of his mind everyday as his birthday nears.

I am getting him a package to learn how to skydive. It comes with a full seven hour lesson and he get to jump alone with instructors near him as he is falling. The other package, he jumps with an instructor attached to him, but I know for him that would not be as thrilling! For one hundred dollars more, I would rather give him a present of a lifetime, something that I know he would remember forever!

I know not everyone has that kind of money or has been in the relationship that long, so here are some more low keyed birthday gifts for your boyfriend!

For a guy you have not been dating that long, get him something that he likes without spending more than twenty dollars on him. You can get him a cool T-Shirt or a CD of one of the bands he likes. You can put some thought into it but you do not really have to go overboard.

If you have been with him awhile, get him something a little more that he loves! For my birthday this year, my fiancee gave me money toward my new tattoo. Maybe if that is what he is in to, buy him a decent priced tattoo, just make sure he does not put your name in it or anything just in case it does not work out, but if he does then it is on him anyways and not you!

Remember not to go overboard when you are with someone a short time, you might end up regretting it if you spend a fortune on him. Just make sure that you do not get him something you will think twice about later. Pretty much I am saying, do not become like Paris Hilton and do something that is raunchy and can be spread around later. As much as you love the guy, it really is not worth it at all!

Birthdays are my forte, I am great at thinking of awesome ideas for them, but when it comes to Christmas and other holidays, I always draw a blank and can never think of anything cool! Just make sure it comes from you and not what someone else tells you to get them!
