I am thankful for Smoothness
Let me explain something that is a given with most parents that on special occasion: we submit to our children. Call it "something in our drinking water" or maybe our time to do something nice for-a-change. Whatever the case, we give into them staying up to watch a holiday show that's why the advertisers put in toy commercials. Every Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any other holiday, we watch a Charlie Brown special. In which, my son screams and yells in jubilation of the upcoming event, likewise, I am happy to see him watch Charlie Brown and snoopy also reminisce on my favorite characters and scenes. Moreover, I expect the same-old ho hum, by which I closely inspect for errors in scenes so I can stay interested. Henceforth, in a cloud of blur, Thanksgiving episode leaves and in wafts "It's a Bully, Charlie Brown."
Ecstatically, cues in my son's chimes of "Can I stay up and watch it," in which in turn I state "Go ahead." Hesitant because I read in advance that they made it this year and expect different voices and situations. Yes and no becomes neutral basis for doing anything in life in the general sense. I was right in some cases. For instance, they showed the loveably bad scholar Peppermint Patty having to go to summer school instead of camp. However, I love in the older cartoons where they illustrate her telling Marcy to stop calling her sir and Marcy cracks on her poor grades or better yet when Peppermint Patty sleeps in class. Another example is the appearance of Snoopy's alter ego, Joe Cool which in the old ones, a song plays that tells what he is doing. Also, he kisses girls and they smack him in the face but I only saw him as Snoopy kiss Peppermint Patty. Moreover, I was waiting for Sally's anxieties. Nevertheless, I digress with being the devil's advocate about the positives.
I was wrong in some cases by which, they let Lucy be Charlie Brown's therapist. Also, they let Lucy hate him by bossing him around about camp and insulting him on his returning arrival. Another case was the appearance of the bully because he was smooth by getting all the kids' marbles, hated Snoopy by pushing him and stupid by referring to Snoopy as a kid. I immensely loved when I saw Charlie Brown studying the game of marbles because it brought me back to him studying with Linus with regards to the spelling bee. Moreover, I was touched by Charlie Brown's victory.
My son's favorite character is Joe Cool so of course, I had to TIVO it by which it gets better every time.
