We are the largest experiment in the history of the world, and most of us don't even know it.
Infant formula, salad dressing, bread, cereal, hamburgers & hot dogs, margarine, mayonnaise, cereals, crackers, cookies, chocolate, candy, fried food, chips, veggie burgers, meat substitutes, ice cream, frozen yogurt, tofu, tamari, soy sauce, soy cheese, tomato sauce, protein powder, baking powder, alcohol, vanilla, powdered sugar, peanut butter, enriched flour and pasta. These foods may all be genetically modified, and most of them are. But no labels. No warnings. No choices. Any chance you've eaten any of these foods lately? Fed any to your family?
Genetic engineering is not the same as hybridization, or cutting and splicing. They are living, mutating organisms, with unpredictable outcomes and agendas of their own. Very scary.
Tons of concerned scientists and documented risks.
Quite a bit of this information was taken from Jeffrey Smith. He is the author of the #1 International Bestseller, "Seeds of Deception", and follow up book, "Genetic Roulette: The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods". Jeffrey's site is found at www.seedsofdeception.com , where he is also the head of the Institute for Responsible Technology. I highly encourage you to go there and pick up The GMO Trilogy. What you'll learn will blow you away, but at least you'll know what's been happening to our food supply, and learn what you can do to protect yourself and your family.
Here are some more statistics to help spur you to action:
1 out of every 150 children born in the United States will develop Autism, and 1 in 3 children born since 2000 will develop Diabetes. As a matter of fact children born since the year 2000 are predicted to have shorter lives than their parents. The American Heart Association says that 80 million people have some form of heart disease. The National Cancer Institute tells us that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will have cancer in his or her lifetime. The American Diabetes Association claims that over 20 million children and adults have diabetes. The International Journal of Obesity tells us that 1 in 4 children is obese, and shows like The Biggest Loser confirm our problems with fat. According to The National Coalition on Health Care, in 2005 we spent an average of $6,700 pr person on our health.
Could all these problems be related to what we eat? And what we don't eat? Too many of us live on processed fast foods, which are mainly gmo, and not enough of us get the recommended 5-13 servings pr day of fresh, raw, fruits, vegetables and grains. But even some of those are genetically altered. How will we know without labeling? Don't you think we have a right to know? Monsanto doesn't. But then again, they didn't want you to know about PCB's and Agent Orange either. Trust them with your food? I don't.
Some other sites that will help you protect yourselves and become proactive are: www.truefoodnow.org. and www.centerforfoodsafety.org. They'll clue you in on what foods to avoid, and also enable you to sign petitions and encourage our representatives to enforce labeling laws. And I haven't even spelled out the real dangers yet. I'll let your own research do that for you. And if you want to learn more, contact me.
Protect yourselves and your families. Think for yourselves. You are worth it!
