that are on so many sites out there. You can sign up for the Google Adsense program yourself and place the HTML code into your website. Then when a visitor clicks on the ad you get paid a small commission. They don't even have to make a purchase. You get paid for them merely clicking the ad. This is a great way to make money with a website that isn't directly selling products. In other words, if you have a website about your favorite hobby or passion but aren't directly selling products, you can add in the ads and make money with your site.

This is one of the ways to make money blogging. If you want to start a blog or if you have one already, even at some of the free blog sites such as blogger.com, you can install Google Adsense ads to it and make some money. Depending on the site, you may also be able to market products using ads from Clickbank or Shareasale.

After you have your own website, you'll want to get traffic to it. The first way is to optimize it to rank as high in the search engines as possible. This isn't as easy as it sounds so you may want to look into paying for one of the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) services out there since they will be up on all the latest SEO techniques (that seem to constantly be changing) so they would be able to get you the highest ranking possible.

One thing you can do to help your search engine ranking is to search the web for sites that are complimentary to yours, in other words, that have related but not competitive content and add a link on your site to theirs, then contact the website owner and ask them to link to your site in return. The more sites that link in to your site, the better it looks to the search engines and the higher it will rank in search results.

You can advertise your website using all the methods I mentioned earlier but be sure to read the Terms of Service at any of the affiliate sites or ads you have on your site to make sure you comply with their rules. For instance, Google Adsense polices click fraud vigorously and they track where clicks come from. It is against their terms to display their ads using a click exchange, so if you have their ads on your page and you display it on a click exchange, they will terminate your account. As long as you comply with their rules though, you can make a good income from programs like these.

I couldn't write an article about marketing products on the internet without mentioning the auction sites such as eBay. If you have products to sell, the auction sites let you do it very inexpensively. You can pretty much sell anything you want and you don't really have to worry about getting traffic. If you have a product that is in demand, people will find it. Ebay has a ready supply of eager buyers just waiting for your products so many marketers use this method of selling, setting up their own store and keeping it stocked with a steady supply of product offerings.

Well, that should give you some good ideas to get started. You may decide to start off with your own website or use one of the methods without a website or you may combine one or more methods. So go ahead and give it a try. You might find yourself making a little money and then you'll be hooked, you'll be an internet marketer.
