Suddenly I look 'round
And everything is changed.
The sky is bleached and polished,
Trees are freshly rinsed
By air with champagne tingles
And a purifying sun.
Come over here and sit with me.
We'll synchronize our heartbeats
And breathe in counterpoint.
Suddenly I listen,
And nature's all in tune.
Birds are singing madrigals
Embellishing the air.
The breeze is blossom-scented -
A tonic laced with wine.
Come over here and sit with me,
Your cheek upon my knee.
We'll strum each other's nerve endings
And blend our souls in song.
Then sleepily, I look out
It's drawing to a close.
Mustard shades bedim the sky.
Star candles flicker on.
Orange orb is chewed by far off hill.
Low clouds are russet-hued.
Come in with me and lie down.
We'll drink the evening's shade,
Drowse in fumes of darkness -
Comes dawn, we'll start
Again.
