Global warming: Fact or fiction?

Is global warming fact or fiction? Perhaps the word fiction is a bit strong, but I think we all know there is some exaggeration involved. Global warming is making a lot of people a lot of money. Many scientists are receiving grants to study it, and authors are selling books about it.

However, we have all experienced the climate changes so we can't ignore the fact that something is happening. It's really frustrating when we try to research the information ourselves because nine times out of ten, we have no idea if the information is credible or not. And there is so much written about it that it can boggle the mind.

There have and always will be alarmists who stir up panic for whatever reason and today, there seems to be an over abundance of them. Everywhere we turn someone is preaching impending doom and warning us to be prepared. Realistically speaking, when it comes to storing and stocking supplies, a person can only prepare so much.

There is a planetary alignment taking place in the universe which is supposed to be complete by December 21, 2012 and many believe it is somehow associated with global warming because other planets are experiencing it as well.

Whether it's global warming or planetary alignment, we can't deny the catastrophes and unusual weather that's happening worldwide. The 2008 earthquake in China killed thousands and the Myanmar cyclone in 2004 killed as many or more. It even snowed in Baghdad. Egypt is now experiencing earthquakes. These are facts.

What's going on? Which is fact and which is fiction?

Alarmists are shouting, "Dooms Day!" Some believe we're entering a new age of enlightenment. Christians believe it's getting close to the tribulation and the return of Jesus Christ.

Fact:

There is war and the threat of war in every part of the world. Many areas have suffered massive loss of life in the last decade due to natural disasters. Massive hurricanes like Katrina and Ike have destroyed a multitude of lives and property. Earthquakes are not only becoming more frequent, they're getting more intense. The news of diseases for which there is no cure are hitting the headlines more than ever before.

Jesus Christ talked about wars and earthquakes. He talked about famine and pestilence (disease) signs in the universe (December 21, 2012) and sorrows like the world has never experienced before.

"All these are the beginning of sorrows. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." (Matthew 24)

If we have indeed reached the "beginning of sorrows," it's going to get much worse. We're going to see some incredible things.

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:25-28)

Global warming may only be the beginning.
