Aromatherapy is Good for the Body and Spirit
Wouldn't you love to soothe and indulge yourself with fragrant oils that are extracted from natural fruits and plants? These wonderful oils have been used for centuries to help maintain good health, and to give one a sense of well-being and calm. Used for generations, they have delighted the senses. Described below are several oils that you can use to help to enrich your life.
#1 is Lavender Oil.
Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region. It grows all over that terrain and gives off an intense spicy aroma when it comes into bloom. The best oil comes from the plants that live at an attitude above 3,000 feet. When the herb's flower buds are harvested, the essential oil is extracted by using steam distillation.
You can place this oil in a simmer pot to help freshen and scent the air. Use 4 drops of lavender oil and 2 drops of lemon oil. For a delightful lavender bath, just put 5-6 drops of lavender oil in a bowl and mix with about 1-2 teaspoons of honey and then add it to your tub. Enjoy!
#2 is Rosemary Oil.
The rosemary bush is also native to the Mediterranean area. But it is now grown all over the world. It can be used for a warming effect on parts of the body, and also can help digestion and lack of appetite. For a soothing bath, add several drops of rosemary essential oil and a couple of drops of lemon essential oil to warm bath water and swirl around for a minute or two. Delightful!
#3 is Lemon Oil.
The lemon tree can grow about 15-16 feet tall. The essential oil is obtained from the peel of the lemon fruit. It takes about 1,500 lemons to produce one pound of essential oil! Lemon oil is a natural air purifier. Put several drops of oil in a diffuser and heat to disinfect stale air in your home. Also surprisingly, you can use lemon with your daily oral hygiene. Just put 1-2 drops of lemon oil on your toothbrush before adding your toothpaste. Brush as usual. The oil will help brighten your teeth and also act as a disinfectant.
#4 is Mandarin Oil
This tree is a member of the orange family and was first known to grow in China. The high officials of the former Chinese Empire were called the Mandarins, and they named this tree after them. The oil is made be pressing the peel, which emit a pleasant sweet aroma. Mandarin oil is safe to use for pregnant women and aging adults.
You can also use it for a relaxing massage. Mix any oil with 2 drops of mandarin oil, 2 drops of bergamot oil and 1 drop of rose-otto oil. Then massage the mixture into the tight, tense muscles. The scent will delight and sooth both the masseur and you. After your massage don't exert yourself.
Aromatherapy will delight your senses, and enrich your daily life. Use these little pearls of nature regularly and enjoy!
