Poetry: Dreams

Prophesy Of You

As I lie here upon my bed
Staring at the ceiling
And looking ahead,
Wondering what life would be with you,
I close my eyes and the vision appears
All bad things are put in arrears
Dreaming of things that we could do.

Activities abound, of the things we like
We try them all and I hope I might
Be able to wrap my arms around you,
We bowl for awhile, take a long walk
Sit by a campfire, for an all night talk
But with this, my dream isn't through.

We share our stories and a laugh or two
Looking upon the stars, I put my arm around you
To hold you close and keep you warm,
You feel secure, as you lean into my shoulder
The brisk night air, starts to get colder
As the coals of embers take their form.

We go into the tent, as night passes away
With dawns dew mist, brings in a new day
The night was awesome, as I could tell,
We woke with a stretch and a smile
As we gaze upon each other for a while
Knowing in our hearts, it went well.

So, as I lie here upon my bed
Thoughts flowing through my head
I awake with a smile and look to my right,
Being with you, brings thoughts of good cheer
Wishing all the while, that you were here
Grabbing for a pillow, I sleep through the night.
