Bruce could be any one of us who keep on doing things the wrong way and then later complain that things are not working our way. We could also be like Bruce, just plain clumsy and so when we are given the chance to excel we just do the wrong thing, bringing to shame every one around us including those who help us. So in the movie Bruce, like us, complains to God for being so and unfair and is given the ultimate job.

Starring Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan doing a recorded broadcast of making the biggest cookie, Bruce is frustrated by the fact that he is always assigned demeaning jobs that always portray him as a funny and brainless newscaster he starts to runt and complain that he never gets the live newscast jobs. So much so, that when he is eventually given a live newscast, he vents out his anger especially when he realizes that his nemesis, Steven Carnell acting as Evan Baxter, has been given the prestigious prime time news anchor jobs riding on his sign off line.

He obviously gets fired and returns home to complain to his faithful and caring girlfriend for five years, Grace Connelly (Jennifer Aniston). Despite his wife reassuring him that God always has a plan, He despises his current life annoying his wife in the process and goes later goes to the street and challenges this unfair God to smite him. He then gets this amazing and persistent job offer that leads him to an empty building where he meets God acted by Morgan Freeman. Now he has his chance to hit back at God especially after episodes with his uncultured dog, a thorough beating and a clumsy stumble into a puddle but all that becomes petty when he realizes that he has truly met God. God offers him the ultimate job that Bruce could ever get- becoming God that's makes him Bruce almighty

Now it is Bruce's time to get even with all those who underrated him and to put his life in order especially with his girlfriend who is amazed by this unique and peculiar transformation of Bruce. Soon Bruce is celebrity getting all the news first that makes him replace his nemesis, Evan Baxter, at the prime time anchor slot. That's not before he manipulates Evan to do the funniest scene that I have ever watched that earns Steven Carnell the lead actor in Bruce Almighty II. No man can have such bliss until God makes him realize that his job is more than just his joy but the success of others through the prayers that resonate in his head that ruins his date with his wife.
