Types of mid-term and late-term abortions explained

Dilation and extraction is one of the most brutal forms of abortion that there could be. The process basically entails that "the fetus is extracted past the navel [of the fetus] outside the body of the mother," or "in the case of head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother," in order to cause death of the fetus.

This by many was considered to be a form of infanticide, so much that many physicians and patients suffered some deep emotional traumas.

The other forms of abortion include D&E and the more rarely used Hysterectomy. The first of the two is a brutal process in which the fetus is literally ripped limb from limb until the doctor has nothing but tiny body parts on his plate. All this is done with the unborn fetus still in the womb. Keep in mind that at this stage (anywhere between the 16th and the 28th week) the fetus is between 6 to 8 inches long, therefore it already is a pretty gruesome sight to see.
One of the more violent processes, but most likely the less painful one is when the head is presented first. In this scenario the physician will crack the fetus's skull and then suck out the brain and other cranial substances, thus killing the fetus on the spot to then be taken out. In the other scenarios the fetus usually dies from blood loss. Vast research has been done to try to determine whether or not the fetus feels any pain but studies so far have been inconclusive as it is impossible as of today to determine whether the pain the fetus feels is comparable to what a normal adult would feel.
D&X has been 'banned' by George W. Bush in 2003 with the Partial birth abortion ban act of 2003.
There were some cases (Stenberg v. Carhart 2000) brought to the supreme court which ended up with a 5(pro) to 4 vote on the unconstitutionality of the Nebraska statue ban on partial birth abortion.

I personally believe that this method (D&X) is extremely barbaric and does classify as infanticide as the unborn is partially extracted, inches away from being given birth to then be put through a process which the physician know will kill the child.

This is just my opinion but what do you all think?
Do you believe some doctors which claim that this is a safer method than D&E or do you think it was just a legalized form of infanticide?
