When Jesus had come to about thirty-three years of age, the Jewish authority of the day was very fed up with him and his influence on their people. They whispered among themselves and devised a plan to get rid of the Christ, for indeed he was the Christ, the Messiah, but they did not accept him as such.

Knowing that the people would be very displeased with their involvement in his capture, they leaked information to the Roman authorities, letting them know they would have their support should they wish to take him.

The Roman authorities offered a lofty prize for anyone willing to betray Christ.

There was one follower' of Jesus, whose heart was dark and full of greed. His name was Judas Iscariot. Judas heard of the prize offered for the betrayal of Jesus and he went in search of a Roman Guard. They made their deal and Judas told the guard that he would be waiting outside the city gates near sundown and that he would indeed take them to Jesus.

That evening of the Passover, Jesus and His disciples left the city and went out into the garden of Gethsemane. They sat, as they usually did, for their lessons and prayer. Jesus lead them in prayer as he always did. Jesus had been informed by a message from heaven that the soldiers would be coming to take him. He knew that his followers would be in jeopardy. He had been given instructions and knowledge on what to do and what would take place. Jesus instructed His people to disburse and hide. He also went and hid himself in a private place.

Not much time passed before the soldiers could be heard approaching the garden. Judas Iscariot lead them to the location where Jesus had instructed his people to meet that evening. He was mildly surprised when he found no one present.

"Wait here," said the soldiers, "and we will go and find him." They disbursed in all directions, leaving Judas alone at the place where he had intended to betray his Lord.

Judas had not been alone long when he noticed bright lights from heaven and the sound of wings and wind all around him. He cowered under his cloak as he tried to hide his face from the angels. He was very afraid and ashamed as he understood that God had seen all he had done.

Judas was still in a state of shock when the soldiers returned. He sat on the ground and as he stood to greet them, they seized him

"Ah, there you are, Judas said that you would be here, and now we see he was correct!"

Judas tried in vain to protest. "But, I am Judas, what is this mistake, what are you
