Do bullies still exist in the workplace?

by SonnyD

From the time we go to school till we die, we will find that where there is a group of people, there is always one person who tries to bully everyone else. These days, we call this person controlling, bossy, pushy and obnoxious. In actuality, they are bullies. In the workplace, if the bully is in a high position, they will throw their weight around and try to intimidate others. If the bully is among the co-workers, they will try to manipulate every situation or try to make fun of someone that is shy or quiet.

The worse of the bullies are the ones that think they know it all and in order to protect themselves, seem to put everyone else down. When in fact, these people are just trying to hide the fact that they don't know too much. They avoid getting too close to anyone for fear they will be found out. These people spend more time bullying and less time working.

For those who are probably dealing with a bully at the workplace, don't worry. Management typically sees right through these people and they will eventually get their just deserves. They way to avoid these people is to not let them affect you. If you pay attention to the job you are doing and not their bullying, they will stop bothering you. The other type of bully are just those that are obnoxious and loud. They just want to seem important and are very loud because they want people to pay attention to them. These people don't have any substance about them.

These bullies will only pick on those they know the can pick on. It thrills them to see someone squirm because of something they said. Don't given to them. Don't give into your emotions. Be professional, when approached by them just stay "Excuse me, but does this have something to do with my job? If not, I can't talk right now because I'm busy." There's nothing wrong with telling anyone this. It is also funny that these people are fine dishing out the garbage but when someone confronts them or says something in retaliation, they get offended.

Don't you think that as adults, it is time for everyone to take a stand against these kind of people? If everyone in the office took a stand against people like this, they would stop bullying people. It's time to take stand.
