Spring Cleaning Sale
I thought that I would never buy,
The worthless stuff I bought to try,
To see if it would fit or go,
Around my waist or house, you know,
And now it's piled "For Sale."
I thought that I would never sleep,
Last night, then dawn began to creep,
Within my room and now I hear,
The alarm clock jangling in my ear!
It's time to start the sale!
I think that I have never seen,
A bunch of buyers quite so keen,
To fight for rights to buy my stuff,
The knicks and knacks and silly fluff
Collected through the years.
I know I think it's very hard,
To have a sale out in the yard,
While watching all those items go
For dimes and nickels when I know,
They cost a whole lot more!
I think I thought, "It's over now,
And I've survived it all somehow"
But just then comes the nagging test,
Of what to do with all the rest,
I couldn't sell or give away?
Perhaps a sale some other day!
