Characteristics of a successful entrepreneur

A successful entrepreneur has many distinct characteristics that separates them from the average person in a crowd and that gives them a quality above the others, and that is their determination to succeed. The successful entrepreneur isn't a quitter and he or she doesn't give up on their dream or let anything distract them from succeeding and reaching their goal.

The successful entrepreneur is an idealist who has a vision and a goal, and their thoughts and actions are focussed around the success of that goal. It's the driving force or incentive for their intentions, and will be the propensity that marks their success.

They are leaders and not followers and will always find a way to get out there and do what has to be done . They are able to direct and teach others, and to demonstrate and sell the product or service with a conviction for success.

They are knowledgeable and responsible people who can take control of situations and are able to overcome obstacles and setbacks with a mature attitude.

They are positive thinkers who believe in themselves and in the product or service they are promoting. They consider the views of others and use that information to further strengthen their own abilities.

They are resourceful and constantly research the market to learn what products or services are in demand in specific locations. They have selected their product or service and have learned how, when and where to market it.

They are prepared business people who have surveyed the public with their proposals by speaking with the local populous and/or performing telephone or door-to-door surveys.

They are honest, forthright, and respectful with everyone they work with including the potential marketers, the financial institutions and investors that will support their endeavours. And they treat their customers with respect and dignity.

They have professional mannerisms, and maintain an heir of professionalism in everything they do and with everyone they come in contact with. .

They have people skills and know how to use tact, discretion and diplomacy with all people. They understand confidentiality and build up instead of tearing down the characters of others.

They are open minded and willing to learn about, make changes to or improve their product or service to meet the legal demand of the customer.

They are prudent and wise in their planning and growth, setting out positive and realistic goals for success without being greedy and expecting unrealistic returns.

They are community orientated entities who understand the value of the differences in ethnic cultures and religious choices, and who are able to be the perfect host to everyone.

They have concern and compassion for their clients or customers and for any co-workers or business contacts that they are associated with. They don't abuse people to reach their goal.

They are realistic in their expectations of others and do not demand or expect more than they know is realistically possible. They understand that success is the result of careful planning and patience as the business times time to grow.

They are people with integrity who are what they say and say what they mean, and who know they must first establish a foundation of trust and respect with their peers and with their customers.

A successful entrepreneur never loses the vision, holds fast to the goal, and always treats the customer with the respect of a business partner.
