I have been playing the Heroes series since the first release and heroes 3 was certainly the best one to date, Heroes 4 was a failure there was no real story line and they placed way too many articles to read, but Heroes 5 overcame the disaster that surrounded Heroes 4 to create a good in-game experince.
With Heroes 5 you have new creatures and an excellent story line, the graphics are supurb, and the additional features are truely amazing, however I feel that Heroes 5 lacks in the area's of playability, for instance Heroes 4 was a fairly easy game to play but after the first 3 levels in Heroes 5 it becomes extreamly challenging, you need to know exactly what to do and you dont have a lot of time to do it.
I think the problem with this lies in the Artifical Intellegence of the game, your enemies are very advanced and unlike the previous games do not wait for you to attack, they are quiet smart when it comes to strategy and if you do not fully apply yourself to the overall goal of the game it becomes very hard to play.
This is not neccessarily a bad thing, if you think you are good at strategy games then have a shot at this one because it takes real gaming skills to beat it, however if you are ok or just starting out with strategy games you may get upset by the level of gameplay brought by this game and turn away from it.
But overall I rate this game as a good challenge with excellent graphics and its worth playing.
