Sweet Dreams

Whispers in the night...
my mind does never rest.
I went to bed at ten o'clock...
these thoughts are such a pest.

I envy any body who
can fall asleep real fast...
and sleep until the morning...
while the "nightly" hours passed.

My mind just never settles down...
it's always on the go.
No matter how I "talk" to it...
the quest for sleep is "no"!

So I sit and write my poetry...
till I can think no more.
And then I lay me down to sleep...
the writing comes no more.

I think I hate to waste good time...
so even when I'm tired,
I try to do constructive things...
when my brain is "wired"!

So once again...I'll say good night,
and off to bed I'll go.
And hope that next I open my eyes...
the dark of night did go!

But if I find that I was fooled
by a "cat nap" in the night,
then I shall get a cup of tea
and set my poetry "write"!

For Those Who Wait In Silence

    Writing, for now, is my lover abroad;
Out of sight, but very much in mind.
    I hold it, caress it,
