Where to play poker online

Where to play poker online is a harder question to answer than one would first think. The number of poker sites that are out there is amazing but the sad part is a lot of them have jumped on the poker bandwagon and will not be there in a few months. So, that being said, I am going to pass on to you information won from my experiences playing online for over six years.

First, no matter which site you choose, play with the free play feature to get used to the site. Nothing is more frustrating than hitting the fold button when you meant to raise. As to which site to choose I would recommend using a site that is established and has been around for a while such as UltimateBet.com, Pokerstars.com, or Fulltilt.com. Those are the three main ones that I use and have been very happy with them.

Of course those are not the only ones to use but if you use a site that you have not heard much about keep your cash investment to a minimum so if they disappear you will not be hurt bad. By this I also mean to withdraw often until you are certain there is minimal risk. even if you have only deposited $20 and built it up to $500, if they disappear you lost $500 not just $20. Play it smart.

Now the difficult part about playing online for cash. Actually getting the money to the site if you live in the United States. Most sites use Money Gram which a lot of supermarkets have deposit centers or you can go to Moneygram.com to find your local deposit station. Make sure that the site supports Money-gram deposits first though.

Another option I have found is pre paid Visa gift cards. They charge a small fee but it is cheaper than Money-gram. However I have to warn you if you go this route look on the back of the packaging. They all list a web site where you have to activate the card. Make sure that web site is allaccessgift.com as I know for sure that they work on the sites I go to. Some such as Walmart Visa cards did not work.

One last thing to check is how you get your money back. Check out how they send you your withdrawals. Some send you a check within a week some take two to three. There might be an option to overnight your withdrawal for an additional fee (which I recommend if you withdraw over $1000).

To sum up just do a little research before jumping in. An ounce of prevention means you can play without worry.

I hope this helps and may all your pots be monsters.
