Did you know that you'll spend more time in your bedroom than any other part of the house? That's because our bedrooms make the perfect place to lounge, relax and read a book, or watch television before snuggling down into our beds for a good night's rest. However, it might not be so comfortable and inviting if it were not for the furniture we pick to make the space draw us in.

Unless, of course, your sleeping on the floor. Don't let the price tags of new furniture scare you. There are plenty of ways to find and choose affordable bedroom furniture to suit your needs.

Before you begin your search you will need to determine the following things:

Determine your budget
Determine what style expresses who you are.
Measure your space in order to determine what pieces will fit best.

Almost every bedroom has a bed. If not, well it wouldn't be called a "bedroom". The bed is generally the focal point of the room. So you want to select your bed first. Note: there are several pieces to a bed: mattress, box springs, frame, and headboard (optional). If you don't already have a mattress and box springs I recommend buying a new one. It's probably the only investment you'll ever make laying down.

If your budget is on the high end you will have no problems finding what you're looking for in the bedding section at your local furniture store. The big ticket price includes delivery and set up, not to mention most places will take away your old one for no extra charge.

Don't have that much cash? Don't be afraid to search second hand furniture stores or local thrift shops for frames and headboards. Someone else's outcast could be just what you're looking for at a fraction of the cost. It just might be fun to spruce up something old and make it new again.

Search online. Recently I had the experience of needing new bedroom furniture of my own. I found a suitable bedroom suit in a very unlikely place, my local Wal-Mart store. I shopped online and found the complete outfit of furniture within my budget. All pieces except for my bed frame where picked up at the store. Shipping on the bed frame was extremely reasonable and the entire assemble came in a few days after it was ordered. It fit my budget, my taste, and unlike most purchases from furniture stores my mattress was returnable within 90 days for what ever reason it didn't make me happy.

But wait that's just one store, you can shop virtually hundreds of shops and auction sites online in search of what your looking for, and not all the
