INT. GUS' APARTMENT - DAY

(GUS, BOB, MRS. CONSTANTINE)

Gus, on crutches, ushers in Bob, who rubs his head.

GUS
I think I have some aspirin.

It's a pigsty; heavy metal posters, lava lamps, old pizza
boxes, beer cans. From the look on Bob's face it smells

too.

Bob makes a GRAND MAGICAL GESTURE.

BOB
Home!

Nothing. Bigger, grander gesture.

BOB
Home!

GUS
You must have hit your head harder than
I thought. Here, sit down.

BOB
(reluctant)
No, I couldn't possibly...

Bob approaches the cluttered sofa. More magical
gestures...

BOB
Clean! Clean! Dammit all to hell...

GUS
Here. Let me.

Gus swipes all the stuff from the couch to the floor with
one crutch. Bob examines the tattered old couch.

BOB
Please tell me that's ketchup.

Gus heads toward the bathroom.

GUS
It's ketchup.

Bob starts to sit. From the other room we hear:

GUS
I think.

Bob perches sissily on the edge. Gus re-emerges holding
a bottle of pills, which he hands to Bob.

GUS
I'm Gus.

BOB
I'm the Devil.

GUS
Pardon?

BOB
I'm the Devil. You know.
