Why people love America

People love America because it is still "The Land of Opportunity", regardless of what some people would have you believe. There are truly more opportunities open to more people, in America, than anywhere else in the world. That was true when America was first dubbed that, and it is still true today.

First, in America, even a person born in the poorest, lowest sections of the country can become someone that other people look up to and admire. You don't have to be rich or a member of the "gentry" to succeed and become "someone" in America. All you have to do is have average intelligence, take advantage of opportunities, and work with the goal in mind to "become somebody", rather than to live off the state. A determined person can learn enough to know which way to go to become someone who can help others succeed.

Second, in America, the color of your skin, whether you are male or female, or how much education you have doesn't keep you from being successful. If you are willing to work and learn and do the job right, you can become anyone you want to be. You may not become a millionaire, but you should be able to earn an honest living that will help you feed and clothe not only yourself, but a family.

Third, in America, you can continue your education without having to get the government's permission to do so. You have to make good grades, but if you can pass the courses, and pay the tuition, fees, etc., you can become not only a college graduate but a doctoral graduate, in many fields.

In America, also, you aren't limited in your choice of fields, except by your own choices. If you are male or female, Caucasian, African-American, Mexican, or any other nationality or mixture of nationalities, you can still pursue any field of your choice. You still have to "pass muster" and qualify for that field, but you are not forced to go into a field that you just can't stand even thinking about pursuing!

And in America, no one is truly "better than others"! Everyone gets one vote, and only one vote. Everyone has the opportunity to work and earn a living or not work and be a bum. Everyone has the choice of whether to marry or not; to have children or not; and to spend their time and money the way they choose.

That is why people love America! People are free, and that gives them a sense of person-hood and dignity that no other nation gives them!
