Climate Change
In recent decades a combination of rising tides, land development has already led to the loss of numerous hectares, of coastal salt marshes, which is a natural buffer the protects the land from flooding threat to coastal properties.
What is going to happen to the oceans when we start using water from the distillation plants to drink?
The haywire climate not that of some distant African state, but here at home has many people worried. Just a few years ago anyone would have dismissed any suggestion of taking action on climate change.
Water quality across regions has changed by climate change. Salt water is increasingly likely to contaminate drinking water supplies near the coastlines. Higher temperatures reduce the amount of oxygen in the water, damaging fish and other aquatic life. Flash flooding can lead to pollution of drinking water supplies by sewage, rotting carcasses, chemical and fuel.
Crop yields will rise in some areas but fall in others, higher concentrated carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are likely to boost tree growth but there is also bad news. The destructions of forests by in comings of salt water, drier soils and more fires will probably see large areas of forest replaced by grasslands. People are suffering water contamination more frequently from flooding and each time there is reductions in supplies of bottled water at the local supermarket. With increasing heat waves each year threatening the health of the worlds population you have a recipe for a human health disaster. Clean water will become more scares, which, in combination with poor sanitation, overstretched medical services and bad nutrition will also provide a perfect environment for disease epidemics.
Much of our precious water goes into growing food for livestock. Meat uses extremely more land than growing crops of the same value. The research done in the category of food, its energy and its contribution to global warming, is nothing if not thorough.
If we all grew some food in the home garden, as well as compost yard trimmings, and kitchen scraps, this will make a huge dent in the families contribution to global warming. If we are to reduce the dangers of climate change when we spend time outdoors a little further there are some ideas that may help. Maybe in some garden the emissions can be reduced by planting trees, apart from the carbon dioxide that the treed suck out of the atmosphere as they can shade a house for summer and help keep the air-conditioning quiet.
